The importance of relationships when creating great events

The importance of relationships when creating great events.

At Apex, we think a lot about what it takes to create winning corporate events. But we couldn’t do it alone. To ensure our events stand out for all the right reasons, and that they deliver against our clients’ objectives, the relationships that we have with these clients (and our suppliers) are crucial. We are in the people business as much as the events business.

Relationships with our clients

At Apex we work hard to create client relationships based on collaboration and trust. It’s no wonder therefore, that many of our relationships are long-standing. This, in turn, leads to continuity of standards for repeat events, smoother operations and a deeper understanding of their needs and objectives. Here are just some examples of what we’ve managed to achieve when working with our friends and partners.

The European Portable Metrology Conference (EPMC)

The premier technical conference of its kind, having run for over a decade, EPMC is a well-known name within the metrology industry. For many years, Apex has been responsible for promoting and growing this extremely important event, attracting like-minded delegates and exhibitors from across the globe. The long-lasting partnership between EPMC and Apex is an excellent example of how we put our clients’ needs first to deliver results they can be proud of.

Elior Awards and Conference

Having managed this event for many years, Apex still makes each ceremony unique, calling upon our 30 years’ experience in the events industry - and our relationships with a variety of great industry suppliers - to meet and exceed our client’s vision.

Watch Andy Grant, Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Elior talk about what it's like to work with Apex, the relationship between our two companies, and why Elior chooses to come back, year after year.

BevExpo

BevExpo started in 2016, with ambitious plans to bring back a UK based industry exhibition and seminar programme for the brewing supply chain. Having not been done for years, the client approached Apex to make it happen for them. In 2018, and returning for the second time, the latest BevExpo aimed to be even bigger and better. And, yet again, Apex was responsible for the overall event management.

Watch Ruth Evans MBE, Chief Executive at BFBi (Brewing, Food & Beverage Industry Suppliers Association), talk about how Apex’s partnership approach is different to other event providers. And how Apex takes away the stress from event planning.

The events community

Engaging with the wider events community is essential when creating successful events. For example, over the years we've worked at most of the best venues across the UK and beyond. As such, as part of our venue finding and management service, we make sure we negotiate preferential rates for our clients[1].

Likewise, we have also developed a network of contacts that allows us to source a broad range of professional hosts and guest speakers - with someone suitable to talk about virtually any topic you can think of. And, our production managers have established trusted relationships with some of the best companies and technicians in the UK. We also have a network of performers and talent, where maximum impact is needed - helping to impress your guests and adding that all-important wow factor to your event.

We also work seamlessly with your other approved agencies.

Internal relationships

Of course, how we work with our own staff every day is just as important. And, at Apex, the relationships we build internally are based on communication, trust and understanding. We know that our teams are passionate about what they do and that we can trust them to make the right decisions. Not a business to stifle innovation we also encourage our people to talk directly and freely to share their ideas and vision for an event. Just as important, because of the breadth of knowledge and skills in our team we know that we can call on each other whatever the challenge.

This culture of support and innovation leads to enviable levels of staff retention. In turn, this benefits our business, as our clients know the people they are working with and have come to trust them implicitly.

We also like to reward our teams with fun teambuilding events across the year!

At Apex, we understand the immense effort that goes into preparing for events, and we work with you to help reach your goals and achieve a truly positive experience. If you’d like to find out more about how we can make your events a success, contact us today to find out more, or give us a call today on + 44 (0)1625 429370 to discuss your requirements in more depth.
