Modular Exhibition Stand for London Borough of Barking & Dagenham

The background

In the next 20 years, Barking & Dagenham will undergo its biggest transformation since the borough was first industrialised and urbanised. It forms the heart of the Thames Gateway region, the largest regeneration area in Europe, soon to host the 2012 Olympics.

They were looking for a fresh, contemporary design to illustrate their brand and communicate their strategy and message, ‘People, Prosperity and Place’ to promote regeneration.

The customer was looking for Apex to handle all parts of the project, including risk assessment, method statement, electrics, graphic design and stand installation, with a view to storage and ongoing management at future events.

What we did

We took a simple, contemporary approach, and created a design that is stylish, inviting, and finished in modern materials, including anodised aluminium, and utilising lots of light. It was open and friendly, with all areas visible, incorporating features such as walk-in storage, 3D project model, stylised map of the borough and seating areas.

The custom modular aluminium profile system is ideal for their needs. It is sleek and modern, and highly adaptable to fit a variety of uses. Many different configurations can be built, including small displays usually achieved with a pop-up stand. Graphics can easily be interchanged and updated.
